Tamas painter has been wood turning for 7 years. As a son to artisan parents, he has found wood to be his artistic medium, creating decorative bowls and vessels using locally foraged wood. He uses a lathe and self made carving tools to turn these raw and rustic wood findings into unique home decor . These wood pieces are handmade in ucluelet BC. Each bowl is created from naturally fallen trees found in the west coast rainforest. Carefully curing and sanding each piece is a lengthly process which can take about 6 months for some pieces to be complete. Each piece has a unique character that emerges out of the special woods eventually showing off incredible grain and complexity. No two pieces are alike"
Tamas lives in ucluelet with his wife and son enjoying a quieter lifestyle and takes advantage of the outdoors, both enjoying the surf at the many beaches and all the back country hiking and canoeing the area has to offer.
